As we close the chapter on the fourth quarter of 2020, Sensor Tower provides us with a detailed performance analysis of the top fast food and fast casual restaurant apps on the Android platform in Australia. This review presents a snapshot of the app trends in terms of downloads and weekly active users, offering valuable insights for industry observers and app developers alike.

Starting with MyMacca's by McDonald's Australia Limited, the app saw an initial dip in downloads from 14K in the last week of September to 8K by mid-October, followed by a significant spike to 30K in early November. Weekly active users reached a high of 240K in mid-November but then trended downward, finishing at 146K by the year's end.

The Domino’s app experienced its peak in downloads with 30K in mid-October, which then fluctuated and decreased to 7K by late December. Active users mirrored this high point with 55K in the same period, yet ended the quarter with a slightly reduced count of 31K.

KFC - Order On The Go showed an initial stable download rate, with numbers hovering around 10K in the early weeks of the quarter, followed by a decrease to around 6.5K towards December. Their weekly active users exhibited a relatively stable pattern, starting at 105K and ending the quarter on a stronger note with over 102K.

The performance of Hungry Jack’s Deals & Ordering was consistent in terms of downloads, maintaining a range from 4.5K to 7.4K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users showed a slight increase, starting at 58K and ending at 56K.

Lastly, SUBWAY ® Australia, while having the lowest numbers among the top apps, revealed an interesting trend with downloads doubling from 1.5K at the beginning of October to 3.4K in early November, and then tapering off to 1.7K by the end of December. Active user metrics for SUBWAY® Australia are not provided.
